Ahhhh, I was a big fan of that pairing before everyone and their mother ruined it.

We complained it was too happy-happy joy-joy, and they ignored us, except for a precious few who went to the other end of the spectrum and over-loaded it with angst and sfjklfsdjk

God damn it. Bittersweet. Not. Fucking. ANGSTY.

Oh goddammit fandom there's a difference between "twisted, sometimes dark, and ultimately tragic" and "Axel CUTS HIMSELF and DROWNS IN METAPHORICAL TEEEEARS because he CAN'T REALLY CRY and that makes him CUT HIMSELF MORE so he can FEEEEL"
