Honestly, I can see how some women would be offended. I am one of the most opened minded people I know and sometimes while watching drag themed show like RuPaul's Drag Race I can't help but think, "Wow, that's how you see us women? That's how you think we act?"

But for the most part, I don't care. Aside for those few awkward moments, I don't really seeing it as mocking like the way minstrel shows do. It's more of a celebration of all things stereotypically girly, soft, sparkly and over the top camp.

I always got the impression that drag queens weren't trying to look/act like actual women, but purposefully exaggerated personalities.

Yeah. I never got the impression that they were "imitating" women beyond wearing a dress.
