I have an unholy fondness for AKB48 due to how I discovered them.

I was watching Global Metal, and they were interviewing Marty Friedman (formerly of Megadeth, now doing a bunch of stuff in Japan), and he was talking about a project he was doing with them. Death Panda. (The awesomeness of that got even more awesomely ridiculous when I discovered that it was apparently based on a guro manga...)

AKB and the sister groups are groups that I've gone back and forth on, but whenever I think "Oh I don't think I'm that interested in them anymore" something sucks me back in. Recently, a bunch of people did fan dancing videos to their song Koisuru Fortune Cookie and I'm in one of the most prominent ones (the international fan version) so I think I'm stuck as a fan, haha.

He performed the guitar for this and performed it live with the group. I didn't bring them up in my original post because their recent stuff has been iffy at best, but this song is fantastic.
