Re: Anybody else read springhole's writing stuff?

I have spent time reading CF comms, and it has helped me form an opinion that I can easily live without ever having children myself, but sometimes the people on those comms? They get a bit too vehement in their opinions.

For a second I read this secret wrong and I thought she had her clitoris reduced and I was about to feel very, very sad. :( Chyna's body is beyond sexy to me. Fuck, Chyna's just damned sexy, period.

A lot of us don't feel the need to boycott over alleged anything. Proof or shut up.

So you wouldn't just be a Slytherin, you'd actually be one of the Slytherins who give their house its bad rep.

Re: Godzilla

Just saw it last night. The... Godzilla bits of the movie were fantastic. The humans... eh. Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen and Juliette Binoche were so, so wasted (what were these people doing in a movie like this, you have to wonder). ATJ's character accomplished literally zero of the things he set out to do. The monster did all the work. Most useless protagonist ever.

I'm glad it wasn't just me.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, you're making a ton of assumptions in order to rile yourself up, there.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
And not all child molestors are men. What do you do with the women?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
What views? That check-box message fic without actual plot and characterization is the cancer killing SFF? That both men and women are guilty of writing it?

Also, I've had ongoing interactions with him over multiple years. They have always been positive. Seriously, the dude is a teddy bear in person.

Tumblr Saints Row fandom is pretty ok. There's only one or 2 people that try their best to cause wank so they're pretty easy to ignore. Don't go to the official forums unless you want to hear people bitch about the 'older games being better' non-stop. I wouldn't really consider that fandom.

Well, huh. He's never been a condescending dick to me like you just were.

Re: Tumblr!

As of this post I have 718 followers and follow 39 blogs. I follow as little as possible. Most of them are not personal blogs, just art refs and such. I unfollow people who post too much. I unfollow people that never post.

Therefore my dash usually only goes through 4 pages or so in a day and I check enough to never have to go back a page.

I don't like cluttering up my clog with talking so I don't reblog much unless I feel I have something important to add. I answer my asks and try not to sound like a social retard but I probably do.

Because we don't live in a country where suspicion is considered evidence and accusation is proof. Not since McCarthy anyway.

After reading the rest of their replies in this thread, yeah, I definitely think she has antisocial personality disorder.

In a nutshell, Correia is a bluntly outspoken conservative gun nut. He campaigned rather vigorously to get not just his book, but other works and people he deemed worthy on the Hugo ballot. His campaign was successful and (incidentally) garnered more money for WorldCon as people bought voting memberships. This is, incidentally, no different than any other well-known author campaigning (Hello, John Scalzi), but because it was Correia, suddenly this was Evil and Not To Be Borne.

Cue a hissy fit of massive proportions as people began crying that the folks nominating those works and people were not "real fans," accusations of "ballot stuffing" and "fake votes," and rabid personal attacks on everyone on Larry's ballot, whether they were conservative or not.

Here's an explanation from the man himself: http://monsterhunternation.com/2014/04/24/an-explanation-about-the-hugo-awards-controversy/

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Always rape victims? What? Do you think that women never want to have sex?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well. That's pretty OTT.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
A pedophile is someone who is attracted to children. Pedophiles can recognize that this is wrong and choose not to go after the children that they're attracted to, thus avoiding becoming child molesters.

Use your brain, sweets.

When Steve goes into his apartment to find Fury there with the record player on, the song playing throughout the scene (which is the first scene where Steve sees Bucky) is an old post-WWII song called "It's Been A Long Long Time"--a song about a person welcoming their lover home from the war.

"Kiss me once and kiss me twice and kiss me once again. It's been a long, long time...."

What?

Where the hell did you even get that? Are you a troll or genuinely sick in the head?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
So women think men are sex toys that are only allowed to want sex when it's convenient for the woman?
Good luck keeping up a relationship like that.

Wow. And I always thought you were at least a marginally decent human being. Never speaking to you again, that's for sure.
