A Steve/Bucky shipper with a deep love of history and angst/whump/hurt+comfort, and a side-appreciation of violence and mindfuckery.
I am having the time of my life. >:D

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 05:18 am (UTC)(link)I will ship that all the forevers.
But it was so weird to see, even post-Avengers, how in, say, Clint/Coulson fics, it was just decided that Steve and Tony were the background couple. To me, Tony had so much chemistry (platonic or otherwise) with Bruce that man, who would have even looked at Steve/Tony if it hadn't already been a thing. (Also, I kinda liked Steve/Natasha after Avengers. But kinda like how Avengers just cooled me completely on FrostIron, Cap2 sort of snuffed that wick.)

Steve/Bucky has a lot of things going for it! I'm not even a history buff but I love the setting of Cap 1 and the flashbacks to their past in fics; love seeing how they adapt to today. There's so much goodness just waiting to be unlocked with this pairing.

I am just not that interested in Bruce, and I am interested in Thor, but it's hard to find good fic that usn't also Thorki. So Steve and Steve/Bucky fanfic it is!
MCU is the one fandom where I love the canon pairings more than any slash pairings. The only slash pairings I care for now are those who no (longer) "have" anyone in canon, i.e. Clint/Coulson, Steve/Bucky, etc. The couples in the movies have such great dynamics that even limited personal chemistry doesn't matter much in the face of the characters themselves. ;)

I love Bruce actually, but again, I don't go looking for fic centered around him. This might be partially to do with the fact that when he's paired it's usually with Tony and/or Pepper, and I'd rather have Gen. I would say I'm lucky to ship both Steve/Bucky and Thor/Loki, expect it doesn't really feel that way because I hate 80% of the fic I've seen in the Thor/Loki fanbase. Sticking with Steve/Bucky is probably best.
Haha, I mostly agree. I even liked Bruce/Betty from the last Hulk film (And Thor/Jane, to a lesser extent, which seems to be pretty unpopular), and I like Tony/Pepper better than most any other pairing in the MCU. The only one I'm not sure about is Steve/Sharon (partially because of the comics and Sharon's relation to Peggy in them; it might not be the same in the MCU), but that hasn't even happened yet so we'll see how that plays out in Cap 3.
