You know how sometimes you think, "damn, I could do with reading a good genfic right now," or "oh man I just read the best piece of gen ever and I want to tell the entire universe about it!!"?

If your answer is "um, no, shipping is like 99.9% of my fandom experience, and tbh that's a ridiculously conservative percentage" then probably this comm isn't your thing. But have fun shipping! <3

If your answer is "YES, I THINK THAT BASICALLY EVERY DAY, WHAT SHALL I DO ABOUT IT?" (or even "er… no, but sometimes I am indeed in the mood for gen") then the answer is to check out gensplosion!

Well, it is possible to have too much of something and shipping, for me, is usually "eh, if it works in the story I like it".

Yeah, that makes sense :)

I generally just prefer friendship or family etc relationship dynamics to romantic ones, or character studies or explorations of the fictional universe etc etc... Which isn't a hard and fast rule, there are some particular ships that I really love, but in general I don't really ship much. I don't actively dislike shippy fic (sometimes I love it <3), but I'm much more likely to squee over gen.

For now it seems lacking in the fandoms I am in, but I will definitely keep an eye out (and maybe contribute if I feel brave).

And yeah, we've intentionally tried to make our profile info etc as friendly and open to new people as possible, but it's always a little intimidating posting in a new comm for the first time. But we'd love any recs you have once you're comfortable posting them <3
