I'll say this for the 98 Iguana-Zilla movie. At least we got to see the monster early and often (although still not often enough that they had to pad it out with Jurassic Park tribute band). I don't enjoy having to "anticipate" a title character for three-quarters of the movie's runtime. Maybe if they'd had us "anticipate" until the first half hour mark, or hell, maybe even 45 minutes at a push. An hour thirty, nah, that is too much.

Basically it suffers from the old Superhero Origin Movie Syndrome, an entire movie of bullshit and ten minutes of the title character we paid to see at the end with implication that you better come and watch the drek if you want to actually see the character properly in a sequel. I don't enjoy movie execs extorting me that way.
