Why do people think Hufflepuff is mediocre?

I mean I could understand the Slytherin = Evil shit because Rowling was really bad at developing but Hufflepuff?

Crappy name, and doesn't have a "thing" like the other houses do, never very well developed, to the extent that it does have a "thing" it's not a sexy thing (everyone wants to be brave, nerds want to be smart, many nerds want to be evil and dramatic, being honest and nice and chill just does not have that appeal), the most well-known Hufflepuff (Cedric) always seemed wooden and was easy to mock, and, uh, yeah, that's mostly it I think
