(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 03:31 am (UTC)(link)Having sex with someone AGAINST THEIR WILL is rape, including situations where the victim consents but only because the other option is some sort of harm that has been threatened against them.
What you've said is that a person who has sex when they don't really want to have sex is a rape victim. The wife who doesn't feel like having sex but does it with her husband just to make him happy (and vice versa) is NOT A RAPE VICTIM.
Please word things better next time.

You, and pretty much everyone else in this thread (I'm gonna assume since no one else commented), knew exactly what I meant when I said this in relation to Cersei and Robert.
And maybe it's just my personal bias as a victim of sexual abuse through coercion, but I find the notion of fucking someone who is averse to sexual contact and is only doing it to 'make their partner happy' to be creepy (setting aside certain ace folks who are just neutral about sexy stuff and freely choose to get jiggy with their sexual partners). IMO, you shouldn't fuck someone if they don't actively want to be fucking you, regardless of their reason.

Basically any time someone is having sex, not because they want to, but because there will be negative consequences to them NOT having sex, it's coercion, and that's a Very Not Cool Thing.
