it's probably because the handwriting is horrible and the secretmaker should've used something else.

yep

Sorry! I was really tired when I made this secret so I wasn't really thinking so hard about how to make it readable and stuff. Don't make secrets when you should be sleeping, kids!

lol It's mostly legible but there are a couple places where it's really hard to read. It's no big deal.
raspberryrain: (Default)

I as well.

[personal profile] raspberryrain 2014-05-21 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
That was strange.

I know what you mean. I also hate turning on my personal music selection when driving with other people or when they visit me, mostly though because I'm afraid they think it sucks and I hate making people listen to music they don't like.

Ugh same here.

Same here. Actually, just a few weeks ago I gave some coworkers a ride, and had my playlist playing quietly (driving other people makes me nervous, so the familiarity of at least having my favorite music playing at least keeps me a little grounded). The guy sitting in the passenger's seat proceeded to rip one of my favorite songs to shreds. Then he made a point to ask if I had chosen to put it in my playlist or if it was streaming from the radio ("I always wondered what kind of people liked this song"). I felt really insulted and now I can't hear that song again without thinking about that...

(Anonymous) 2014-05-18 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
UGH, that sucks, I hate when people do that. If your riding around in somebody else's car, you should at least have enough respect to not rip whatever the driver chooses to play. You were the one who was kind enough to give your coworkers a ride, the guy in the paassenger seat should have had the grace enough to keep his opinion to himself.

If he really did hate it, a polite "Could you play something else?" would have gone over better than ripping it to shreds.

That really sucks. I wouldn't give him a ride anymore.

My father likes doing that and actually thinks that him making scathing remarks about songs I like will endear him to me, I don't even know. I think it's one of those "dad humour" things.

I used to be like this, but tbh at this point I just flail and do not try to contain my delight when something like this gets mentioned/I happen to be talking about it.

I found that enthusiasm of this sort is pretty contagious and that people around you often enjoy it as much as you do.

(unless you talk about this thing ninety percent of all the time and stick it into every conversation, in which case you will soon be left with a couple of friends who are either fans themselves or love you too much to leave).

I don't think that's necessary at all. You should be able to like what you like without feeling self-conscious or weird about it. However, I'm sure you can't help it, so...

I do think it's understandable (to an extent), so sorry, but I kind of get you OP.

Ohhh! Okay, I understand the secret now! Thank you

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
downplay, I think

Thank you anon!

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 09:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I been there, OP. You never want to risk looking like a brainless obsessed dork in front of somebody you might even slightly be trying to impress.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I can understand!
If I happen to empathize with a character or have a completely different interpretation of their personality, I tend to question myself a lot when someone I respect sees them in a different way.

But I'm really happy when I meet someone who happens to share my tastes especially since I tend to root for the unpopular characters and I feel protective towards them. :)
