Re: Non-fandom secrets

Related to #10, I have a large number of small moles (not freckles). All over me- face, arms, legs, a few on my chest and back. I am very fair and they are medium/dark brown; they are fine according to my derm.

I normally don't care about them other than my normal skincare. But when I see things like secret #10, I get extremely self-conscious. If one is distracting, what on earth must people think about someone with 100+? :(

I don't know if this is encouraging at all, nonny, but I personally find moles very, very sexy. :)

I think you sound cute.

And by #10, I obviously mean #11.

I would find that really cute, personally.

I'm really self conscious about the moles on my face, too. Especially the big one kind of by my nose and mouth. People made fun of me for it in middle school and I've never really gotten over it.

To be quite honest, I think one is more distracting than 100, since it stands out more.

That said, I wouldn't have found the one in secret 11 distracting at all if OP hadn't made a secret just to point it out. And if I knew that person, I'd probably stop noticing it after a while, if I even noticed it in the first place.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is about “imperfections”. A few (or a hundred) moles isn't the end of the world. No one's perfect. Freckles, moles, whatever, it can be attractive.

Hell, back in the early days of SPN I was a bit obsessed with Jared Padalecki and ngl, the moles are hot. Now I'm quite into Dylan O'brien and again, while he's good looking in general I think his moles have a certain appeal to them. He wouldn't look as interesting without them.

So don't be too self-conscious; even if there are people who don't like them, there are always others who probably do.

freckles are fucking adorable.

not disagreeing about moles either! anything that's distinctive like that can really bring out a person's beauty.

I love freckles. They're so pretty and cute and can do so much for a person's face. (Lucy Liu, Unf.) Sometimes I wish I had more freckles on my face. I don't have many, but I have some scattered ones on my hands and arms.

Anything “different” adds character, which to me is typically a good thing.

Multiple moles aren't distracting while just one is. I think Dylan O'Brien's moles are sexy.

Of course Dylan O'Brien's are fine, he's a man and there's a double standard. (This is a very general complaint, not directed specifically at you, queerwolf and elaminator!) I often see people bitching about Marion's, or most often Melanie Laurent's and that makes me self-conscious because hers on her neck/chest are very comparable to mine. I have more though.

Some of mine were even photoshopped off by the company that did senior portraits for my HS yearbook. :\

That's horrible that they photoshopped your pics like that :( I like them on Jennifer Lawrence too. Can't say I notice them on most people.

To be fair, the company photoshopped everyone; and mostly for acne because, y'know, high school seniors. And they removed my male friend's little scar above his eyebrow.

I have a few small beauty marks on my face and body and an handful of extremely light freckles on my nose and shoulders. I think they're lovely.

I don't think people really notice if you have that many moles everywhere. I myself kind of go GRAAAAH because every summer I get more freckles on my face and I keep telling my friends: "LOOK. I GOT MORE FRECKLES AGAIN" and they just can't tell the difference.

You never know what other people notice about you - for example, I have what I always considered VERY obvious spots on intimate areas which, for a long, long time, I was very self-conscious about (a small beauty mark on one breast, a very large one on my ass). Then, there was some stupid celebrity news about a suspected sex tape, and I joked to my partner that even if my face weren't visible, she'd ALWAYS be able to tell if something like that were really of me or not, and she ... didn't get it. Apparently, she'd never really registered them.
As for the secret - yeah, sometimes some feature you have catches your eye and you can't stop focusing on it - but again, what one person can't stop looking at, someone else will pass over...
