For all I've seen around me, people already gay-friendly before may say yaye, but everyone else is just either making fun of the drag in beard, or frowning at the oddity. Or backing away slowly at the thought this is becoming a threat to their children.

I heard no one say 'Well, she looks weird but her voice is awesome and she totally rocked that song'.

Dana International probably had a greated impact back then.

Well, I'm optimistic that someone will be impacted by it.

That said, I don't watch Eurovision or anything, I only know about this from skimming tumblr and talking to people so I can't really say anything more.

I've heard lots of people say that. And I agree with them. I don't even like the song, but her voice is amazing.

The voice is really interesting, because it's so androgynous as well - it really fit the performance.
