I'm not sure going anon is any degree of necessary, but I'll do it just in case.

And the show in the secret is Murder Rooms, a five-episode BBC costume drama about Doyle&Dr. Joseph Bell being quasi-Holmesian. The dynamics is very different from that of H&W, but technically the roles are the same - Bell is "Holmes" and Doyle is his "Watson". There's a marvellous Gothic/detective noir novelization, too.

I absolutely love Murder Rooms! I don't know how I didn't recognize him. They have a wonderful mentor & friends relationship, the plot is never boring and the atmosphere is superb - reminds me of Whitechapel in that it's dark and has some unappealing bodies lying around. I especially enjoyed psychological tension fantastically related by the actors. I love both of them. ^^
Now I want to rewatch this.
