Yeah, I know that situation too. On the other hand, with me I was lucky enough that as I cheered up, my writing automatically got happier too. I still do have a tendency to push things into a darker angle, but it's often mitigated by humor, and generally I feel like it's more because it's a kind of emotional porn I enjoy rather than reflecting deep misery on my part.
