I look at that pilot and think, who was really at the reigns on developing it. Carver and Singer and the SPN producers or the CW bigwigs. Did the newtork give the producers a list of things they wanted to see in a spin-off (i.e; pretty, young rich people. Family scandals. Tragic love stories.) Because all I saw was a rehashing of every other CW show. Or did Carver and the others have free reign to do what they want and they just happened to make a spectacularly bad pilot?

Come to think of it, that's exactly what they did to the Secret Circle TV series. No wonder it go canceled so quickly

Basically this. The show looked like every other CW show and had little to no appeal, so I'm glad it was rejected.

I wonder, too, because it was *so very much* following the usual CW template, it was mind boggling.
