My thing is that most of my "current" fandoms have been for sitcoms and as much as I hate to sound elitist... they don't seem to inspire the most intelligent conversation. Not that liking sitcoms makes you less intelligent, obviously it doesn't, but they seem like people who really do just watch it and don't really think about much other than "I liked that joke." Wow.
