When was yours?

I can't fucking believe I actually managed to scare myself into insomnia with an episode of Endeavour. Christ. I'm so annoyed right now.

I watched a Let's Play of Outlast. I can't do scary shit, and something about the interactive format of a game (even if it's not me playing it!) really gets to me. Couldn't sleep right for days. Shoulda known better after a LP of Silent Hill did the same thing....

Oh man, I watched a few LP's of Outlast too and they scared the shit out of me. Doesn't matter that I wasn't playing the game, I jumped, screamed and was completely petrified. I was actually watching a let's play of the DLC earlier today (which is even worse than the actual game. The hell), need to finish it.

Funnily enough though, it didn't make me lose sleep.

Kindergarten?

I'm currently living by myself and a few months ago, I was staring at the bathroom from my bed and wondering what would happen if someone just sprang out of there. I creeped myself out and didn't sleep for a few hours.

I day after I watched "The Conjuring" in theatres. I just kept thinking about the part where one of the daughters had her leg pulled and she totally freaked out because she saw the ghost at the door. I spent the night trying to tuck the blankets under my feet and unable to doze off to sleep because I kept thinking about the movie.

I have a male cat who was neutered late, and when the stray tom comes around my cat lets out this incredibly loud, unholy screech, like a cross between a red tailed hawk and fuckinghellwhatwasthat.

It gets me every time.

Probably a long, long time ago when I stayed up reading Mass Effect indoctrination theories with the Mass Effect soundtrack on. It shouldn't have been that scary but I was reading until like 3 AM and by the time I got finished I was dead tired, completely out of it and half convinced the reapers were real.

One time when my alarm went off I jerked awake thinking it was a Reaper. My alarm sounds nothing like a Reaper. I must have been having a very interesting dream, but I can't remember it at all, haha.

I've done that but that was back when I had the Inception bawwwww as my alarm tone. In hindsight, not the best idea.

I can't help but find it hella amusing that this is a thing that happens to people, and not just me.

After the Boston bombing it took several days for me to be comfortable sleeping.

Never?

I sometimes get too panicked to sleep, but I think that's a different thing and related to the panic attacks I used to have. Not being able to sleep hasn't happened for months, though.

I thought it would be fun to read the nightmare fuel pages on tvtropes for some normally really happy, lighthearted things right before I went to bed.

I was just expecting some mildly creepy canon stuff, not mentions of grimdark fanfiction. I can handle things like "wow that one scene scared me as a kid," but grimdark fanfiction just creeps me out.

Sometimes I watch those 'true stories of alien abduction/haunting/weird unexplainable shit!' and while the subjects themselves don't bother me that much sometimes the images from the shows just stay and I can't get rid of them. That keeps me up sometimes. It's even worse when my very vivid imagination gets going and I think up something even worse.

I usually get to sleep pretty easily. Generally stress keeps me up more than fear.

Er...probably after I saw World War Z. I dunno, the non super gory zombie films get to me sometimes. Last of Us also didn't help.
