Re: So trigger warnings finally made the New York Times
So yes, let's make it personal: this person strikes me as the kind of student who tries to skate by. That prof did everything right, including warning the students ahead of time and putting violence in the actual name of the class, and the poster is acting as if this was so hard to deal with that they just had to read summaries instead of actually doing classwork. I take solace in the fact that, as an educator, I've personally seen that it's really fricking easy to tell when a student is only using wikipedia knowledge.
Thanks for the feedback, but again, this is lame. I'm going to treat it as lame. This does not seem to be what you were doing with wikipedia at all. We all use wikipedia. The profs use wikipedia. This is cheating.
Edit: Arg, sorry. This is me trying not to be pissy. I'm in a bad mood.

I guess I take the stance with feo's position that I don't know enough about what was going on there. I'm gonna stay neutral on that one.
Thanks for the response and the explanation though. :)

(Anonymous) 2014-05-19 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)And if all this cheating doesn't matter... then, where, exactly do you think people honestly get their credentials to become brain surgeons, doctors, nurses, pilots, etc.?
I'm hoping you're a troll, and that this isn't your actual "informed" opinion.
