Sorry this happened to you, OP. If it helps at all, Snape is my favourite character too but I definitely think he's a pretty flawed and often terrible person. Definitely compareable to how flawed/horrible Sirius is, albeit in different ways.

Not so sure about James, since we really don't see/know enough about him to be sure either way - he was obviously pretty terrible at one point but he does seem to have turned things around in ways that never Severus or Sirius were able to do.
