Sure, no problem!

So, basically, Margot has this batshit insane serial killer brother called Mason, who has controlled her for most of her life. Their father owned a large business fortune, and Mason (as the male), is set to inherit it all, and Margot will essentially be powerless if he does.

So, her way out of that situation is to have an heir herself. That way her son will inherit the money, it will all go to her. She can't get IVF (because Mason presumably controls the funds.) So, she turns up on Will's doorstep. (She knows Will because she's also a patient of Hannibal's, and they exchange notes on him.)

So, you know. It's not the best writing decision, but it's far better than her magically falling in love with Will and turning straight for him. They're both very broken characters at that point, so it makes sense that she's doing something drastic as an attempt to escape her brother's control. It's confirmed twice in-dialogue that she's a lesbian.

As someone who's bi myself, I found it far less problematic than a lot of other, similar storylines.

Ayrt

That's not as horrible as I thought it would be. I kinda see why she would do that, especially if she thinks it's the only way to better her situation. However, there's no guarantee that she will get pregnant or if she does, that the child would be male. Which makes this even more tragic/fucked up. Is it set on stone that her son would inherit? Does her having a son mean her brotger will be passed over?

Poor Margot. Thank you so much for the spoilers! It kinda makes me want to get into the show just to see how it plays out.
