I can honestly say that I have never needed someone else to give me asspats for liking a ship. For that matter, I don't need outside validation for my opinions. If people agree with me that's nice, but if they don't then they don't.

Nor do I want to empathize with someone going "Bawww! Fandom at large doesn't mah ships. Baawwwww! End of the world! Rocks falling, canon characters dying!" People like that exist for my amusement, not my empathy.
