IMO, real alcohol doesn't taste great, either. It's more the buzz and aftereffects that are nice.

Eh, that's a matter of opinion. I, for one, love the taste of beer and could do without the buzz and/or aftereffects.

I hear that. I'm on medication for life that makes me incredibly ill if combined with even a slight amount of alcohol (basically instant plastered on even a drop), and I would cheerfully give up the feeling drunk to just get the taste. I do miss the taste of a long cool beer, especially if Ice Cold in Alex is on television. For those of you who have seen the movie, take a moment to think about it and the ending scene, betcha feel like you can even taste that beer now.

I'm in the same boat, plus I've found that ciders now seem to trigger headaches and projectile vomiting. Fun!

Have you tried non alcoholic beer?

You mean the love-in-a-canoe stuff? Just once, oh just once.

I've never actually tried it because I'm not into beer, but I work in a nursing home and several of the patients like their beer but can't have alcohol so their families get them non-alcoholic beer. On the other hand some patients can have alcohol and have made sure they have a doctor's order to have some every night. Yes, you have to have a doctor's order for us to have it for you.

I can't stand beer so I couldn't tell you if it actually works. But it probably won't hurt to try it.

Yeah that's why they said IMO.
