Re: School Dress Codes
Saying "you can't go into school like you're going clubbing" still leaves room for a lot of independent expression.

Perhaps I am just on the worst side but all I see is 'They told me my skirt/shorts were too short/I was showing too much skin and they punished me'. IMO, school is learning environment, the students are being prepared for a working environment and they should dress smartlyand formally.

idk, I sort of get the idea behind having kids dress formally at school, except...that's a lot of maintenance for formal clothes to have to be constantly in formal all week. I think there should be ways to have a balance. And most people I know are generally pretty down with the idea that some work environments will expect formal dress, that's not going to be a hard concept for most people to grasp once they start working.
