Gonna have to disagree with that. I can't stand assholes and I love cats. Most of the cats I've been around haven't been assholes and have been quite affectionate, especially when I've been sad.

I've never really understand the whole cats are assholes trope tbh.

They're sort of like this awkward roommate to me, that I'm side-eying lest they start destroying furniture or bringing back dead animals.

Yeah, this. Cats can be really affectionate. I still remember one of the cats from my childhood who would always jump into my lap and hug my neck. Loved that little bugger.

My first cat had a radar or something because whenever I was depressed or upset, she would find me and love on me for all she was worth. God, I miss her. I wish she was still around. I could use her affection at the moment.

Seriously, when I'm depressed, what I wish for the most is that my old cat could be there and comfort me.

My old cat was the biggest baby ever! He was the runt of his litter, and didn't have an ounce of aggressiveness in him. He loved being held and doted on, and he would actually come if you called his name. What about your cat?

Awe, he sounds like he was a great cat!

My cat quite protective of me and once chased off a dog that was bothering me. Even so, she was very social and warmed up to new people quickly. She would come when called and whenever I cried or seemed like I was about to, she came in a flash and just started loving on me. She was always there when I needed her and wasn't noisy on the least. Not much mewling or whining, even when she wanted food. Basically, she was the best cat I could ever hope for.

Oh my god, your cat sounds like she was amazing. It honestly boggles my mind when people think that cats don't make good pets.

She really was! She was so in tune with my moods and emotions. It was almost unbelievable! I'm super scared of storms and stuff, so whenever I was getting panicky about them she would just be there, rubbing against me and trying to keep me calm.

She's the main reason why it irritates when people say cats aren't affectionate or that they're aloof assholes.
