Someone I follow has seen the movie and said he is quite different from the source material so....

He is different from the source material. So are some others. He's also incredibly cool,, though.

He is quite different, but they make mention of that fact. Wolverine makes mention of him being just a kid and how he's grumpy and rude when he's older, so it's not like they completely threw out everything about him that's established by source material.

I thought he was a good part of the movie. But he was nothing like Comics Quicksliver.

It amuses me to no end that Kick-Ass and Asskicker both play Quicksilver.

Yes, I know he never played Todd-as-Asskicker, but he was still Todd.

No, they aren't. Evan Peters plays Quicksilver. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kick-Ass. One is an American actor and the other is English.

I don't doubt that he can act the part, even when he doesn't look it and the computer effects probably look cool but man... that COSTUME is just awful all around. :/ The sneak peeks etc. did not help.

One of my friends said he looked like a real-life DJ PON-3 cosplayer, and ever since then, I've been unable to unsee it.

That's great news! I'm looking forward to it.

I stared at this secret for a good five minutes trying to remember who this dude was before I realized he was in American Horror Story. He was quite good in that, so now I'm looking forward to this movie a bit more.

(I don't know much about Quicksilver himself though, as he's only appeared a couple times in the comics I've read, but as long as he's likable or fun I don't see why he needs to be exactly like the comic version. I'm sure none of the other characters are exactly the same either.)

I think he was extremely likeable. It seems to be pretty well-agreed upon by the people that have gotten to see it that his biggest scene is among the best ones in the whole film.

So tell us, is the movie as gay as the first one?

Absolutely 100% as gay.

I really have no opinion on whether or not he is able to play that role , I just want to murder that costume designer.

If it's any consolation, he doesn't wear that outfit the entire time. It's only in one scene.

I hated the X-Men: First Class but if there was ever a reason to watch the new film, he would be it. Peters is such an interesting and entertaining actor to watch.

I am just entertained at how there ended up being TWO Quicksilvers for two different continuities.

I want fanfic about how these two parallel universes are loosely connected and Quicksilver is like the link or the constant or something.

I love both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch with a burning, so I would appreciate it immensely if someone could make this happen. Something something whoops, I tore the fabric of the universe in an emo rage, something something running really fast causes a highly imperfect universe-mend somehow. . . I don't know; make it work!

I didn't know people were making fun of his acting. I thought they were just making fun of his hair.

Hm, he is pretty cool-looking.

I'm not sure anyone's doubting him per-say, I think it's mostly lots of snickering over his outfit and the fact that there are two Quicksilver's in different Marvel films.

That's great to hear, though I was pretty okay with how he looked in the trailer anyway.

I was looking forward to Avengers 2's Pietro and Wanda more than Pietro's DOFP. And in a week I saw both DOFP and Godzilla, which has Aaron and Elizabeth, who were awful, while Evan was perfect.

So, IA. And not looking forward to the twins in A2 anymore.

No amount of good acting (and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here) can save that outfit.
