Now that it's hit home, I am thinking she must have one strong ear. I used to be scared of wearing big earrings in case they stretched my ears.

Tangential to that, I love Treasure Planet but always get distracted during the solar surfer scene at the bewginning because Jim's small metal earring is flapping in the wind like a streamer. I can't stop the little voice in my head yelling, "Earrings don't work that way, and can you imagine what they'd do to your ears if they did?"

Eek, the weight of that thing... I would fear for my ear as well. I never could understand how people could stand wearing huge (again, as in heavy, not large but skinny hoops or anything) earrings because they look so uncomfortable to me. Maybe you get used to it.
