Choosing what junk to eat

(Anonymous) 2014-05-20 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I am so hungry, and all I want to do is run out for some tacos and churro. In about the same amount of time, I could probably go downstairs and make the macaroni and cheese (with tuna and peas) in my kitchen, but...I don't wanna.

And I feel like it's kind of a wash, healthwise. Both options are salty, between taco shells and macaroni shells, both options are carby. Veggie wise...peas are also carb-heavy compared to the taco lettuce...but it's iceberg lettuce, which is pretty useless. Tuna is better than "beef," provided it's not hiding stealth Fukushima radiation, but I get my tacos without sour cream, which makes them less fattening, probably, than the tuna mac.

Tuna mac is also cheaper, but it still feels less immediate. Plus no churro (and I haven't had any desserts yet this week, so I don't feel like having a churro now sends my moderation out the window).

AARGH! What should I eat?

Well those sound like some awful busted-ass tacos, so I would go with the mac

Mmm, tuna and mac and cheese. I haven't eaten that in forever! I love it. Not the healthiest thing I know, but even now I'm not exactly the healthiest eater, lol.

Uh, I say either. Don't know how the tacos are, but fuck have I been wanting to make tacos. Both are delicious.

Mac and cheese! Near-infinite deliciousness for a minimum of effort, and you don't have to spend any extra money. You can get a dessert later if you really are craving something sweet, but you'll still have spent less money on net.

Skip the neon (speaking of radiation) "cheese product" powder, use parmesan, instead. Add the sour cream to the mac + tuna + peas + a tin of tomatoes if you have them = healthier option.

I don't like sour cream, tho.

Nor do I like tomatoes. But thanks for the suggestion?

You've probably already eaten by now, but the answer is clear: order pizza.

If both options would take the same time but aren't that great healthwise, and you are supposedly trying for moderation, I would take the lowest calorie option. If that doesn't appeal to you, just get the one that sounds most delicious to you at the moment, and make sure you enjoy it, and then eat healthy tomorrow.
