That's kind of what I hear.

But the Royal Assassin trilogy (or whatever it's called) honestly just sounds really bad. I know book by its cover etc but it just sounds goofy and bad.

the only series of hers I've gotten through is the liveship traders, and I loved it. It inspired me to try the other ones, but no luck...

idk, it's hard for me to judge it, but the Royal Assassin (and its continuation, the Fool trilogy) are the only books of hers that I truly liked. I couldn't get into any of the others at all.

I know. I avoided reading it for ages because it sounded like a horrible mess of old fantasy clichés. While I can't say it ended spectacularly, I will say it was a lot more enjoyable and complex than it sounded by the jacket blurb. That and the Tawny Man trilogy is her best work.
