Ooo, I also feel like “You're stuck with me Rodney, just accept it” fits. And Rodney's follow up, “You're a good friend, Arthur.”

Plus, John not allowing Rodney to sacrifice himself for his sister and then all but talking a man into letting himself be murdered so Rodney's sister can be saved (And Rodney won't keep trying to risk his own life)... Uh, that's about the most fucked up “I love you” ever.

OMG yes. The moment that spawned a billion fics. I ship everything for SGA but when the show went there--John manipulating a man into suicide for Rodney--just wow.

That moment (maybe more than any other moment in the series) cemented that ship for me. The terrible things John will do for Rodney....

Now, not saying he wouldn't (or hasn't) done awful things on occasion for the rest of the team, but the show REALLY liked putting him and McKay in those situations and emphasized their relationship more than most the others. I could barely believe what I was watching when that episode aired; it was scary and Rodney's reaction was perfect. Then they just went off to lunch and pretended it didn't happen.

I love McShep, but they were fucked up in their own ways, lol.

There was quite a rash of Dark!John fic, and before that episode I didn't really see it. boy did I see it after that. LOL
