I get called a feminist by various jerks. I call myself egalitarian but apparetnly that doesn't matter. :/

The proper label for what you are is "idiot."

I honestly really dislike when people do this. Feminism is about equality and supporting women's choices. Full stop.

By denying the label you are denying the hard work of all the amazing feminist women and are painting feminism as something it isn't.

To be honest, I'm much more worried about the so-called feminists who paint feminism as something it isn't than I am by someone who puts their emphasis on equal treatment for all.

you do realize that feminism has, and is in some ways, been for white/straight/cis women, and to this day it still sometimes is really problematic when it comes to dealing with poc's/lgb+/trans individuals, right? It's totally legitimate if people don't want to label themselves as feminist, because honestly, it hasn't always been the friendliest label to minorities.

You do realize how many non straight, white, cis women identify as feminists and are working hard to see that feminism is inclusive, and your attitude makes it that much harder for them... right?

Whoops, I should say "us" before some pedant accuses me of being a straight white cis woman (I'm exactly one of those things) speaking over minorities.

By denying someone's right to call themselves what they damn well please, you're undermining all the hard work of the amazing feminist women. Back off.
