Agreed. Though I'm not even saying HP's ending is artificially perfect because I never finished HP (only read about the epilogue), but in general I agree with your sentiment.

Happy endings are great, and sometimes they're exactly what I want, and sometimes they fit the story to a T.

But sometimes they don't make any sense.

Plus, not every happy ending has to be a 'fairytale' happy ending. A happy ending can still be imperfect.
