His genuineness and the love he shows for his family are just the best; Modern Family is the best; it has its flaws but I love it so much.

I agree. And there are occasionally episodes that piss me off, where I feel that the writers have messed up something that the characters wouldn't have been so heavy-handed about. (In particular I hated the first episode with Jay meeting Cam's dad, which struck me as sexist in many points and didn't HAVE to be that way...)

But the vast majority of the show is great, I have only a few complaints (especially for how many seasons the show has gone already) and they really do address issues that other shows are afraid to, especially concerning gay couples and their families. I think they manage to make these things understated enough that they don't get a huge wave of hate for it, which is impressive on its own. Really though I love seeing family conflicts treated with sympathy. Hopefully they don't veer into soap-opera dramatics anytime soon!
