My interest has gone from 'exclusively slash' to 'everything under the sun (almost)'. I find that I don't really grow out of things as much as I just tend to expand my interests. It's different for everybody I suppose.

Maybe expanding their interests as they get older is what most slashers do (I know I did) and other people just see that they start shipping het pairings and start saying they 'used to be super into (whatever their main slash ship is)" and assume they dropped it completely?

Hmm, that makes more sense than what I thought when I read the secret.

Oh, this does make a lot of sense!

Same. Though, I pretty much read fic for slash and femslash pairings because my het pairings are usually canon so I don't feel the need to read fic.

I did this pretty much the opposite way of you.

I don't think I will "grow out" of shipping anything, but I am quite sure over time I will spend less and less time in fandom and especially reading fanfiction, but that will not make me stop shipping anything, just that my life will lay other claims on my time.

I'm the same but the opposite. I used to read nothing but het but as I got older I got into slash and fem!slash. I don't think I'll ever stop being a shipper tbh because I have been doing it for as long as I can remember.
