What made you stop enjoying it? I stopped watching (most) anime because the shows just went on forever and ever and ever.

I just got sick of the tropes, I guess. The harems, the bland love interests, the weird age gap relationships or the mandatory tournament arcs. I stopped liking the artstyle as well. I realized one day that I just wasn't interested in anything new anymore. I still enjoy older titles I watched as a kid though (Trigun, Princess Tutu, Sailor Moon, even YuYu with it's long dark tournament thing)

As much as I like the style, I kind of feel you on that. Like, if it's a super stylized style (like early CLAMP), I tend to like it, so long as the story is good. But what gets me is series or people who draw fairly realistic body proportions...and then generic animu face. I have a friend who does that and I just...gah, it looks so weird.

Otherwise, I get picky with the style and the stories now and it's far harder for me to find a show I like and I end up rewatching the older stuff cause I at least know they are good.

I've actually been watching more and more anime because they don't go on forever like most American shows. There are so many good ones that are 13 or 26 episodes.

Agreed! And even the ones that are 50 episodes really grows on you, provided that there aren't excessive fillers. The shorter length per episode also makes trying out series less time consuming.
