I Love Murder Room series and didn't know there are novels. They sound great.

so they are! Some of the plotline is from the series, but some of it is original (including the entirety of The Dark Water). And it's worth reading, anyway, because even when it coincides with the series it isn't just a retelling.

I mean, there is a moment when Doyle is incredibly distraught and Bell attempts to console him by teaching him to deduce stuff, only to end up pretending that he got a deduction horribly wrong while Doyle got it right. How damn awesome is that?

MR is my favourite TV show of all times, tbh. *sighs* These plots. That friendship. The White Knight Stratagem Bell&Doyle arc is such a welcome change from all the fictional conflicts that are based on stupid misunderstandings and can be resolved in no time at all.

The White Knight Stratagem Bell&Doyle arc was omg-astingly awesome! The relationship between the two is what got me watching this series, because otherwise I'm rather squeamish about psychological tension and graphical dead bodies lying around. I don't think there would ever be a generously sized fandom for this, unfortunately.

Nor do I. I do what I can - there is a fan blog with some dozen followers and a chunk of fanfiction - but I got used to the thought that I'll be that one weird person who likes a thing few people do. And certainly I don't expect much fannish activity apart from what I initiate myself.

Also, yes, I totally friend-ship Bell&Doyle like nobody's business. IMO their dynamic may just be the most fascinating thing about the series, the gore and the angst notwithstanding. So I'm glad it appealed to you so much ^^

(Their conversation in the end of TWKS is just vfkngvklndfb'lkfndbgklfn. Makes me wave my hands at the screen. Wow, Doyle looks so guilty even though he's done the right thing. Mental keyboard smash.)

Had to rewatch the ep. The conversation was great. Doyle just really didn't want to part with Bell. He kept looking back in a small window on the back of the cab. Bell also didn't want to say goodby. Fortunately, they met again in the next ep. The ending was as angsty as was expected... Doyle is forever suffering in this series, but Bell doesn't angst as often, so it was a bit of a surprise.

My favorite episode is Bones, the one with the circus. I think it's perfect in several ways.)
