When/if they kill Steve, I'm hoping for three things:

1. it's in Avengers 3

2. Avengers 3 is The Infinity Gauntlet

3. Steve gets to make his epic one-man stand against Thanos from the comics (with a worse ending, alas), buying the others enough time to do…whatever it is they need to do.

It would be a good way for him to die. I don't want him to die, but it would be a damn good death.

Seeing how Cap 3 has already been confirmed, I kinda doubt he'll kick the bucket in Avengers 2. Unless Cap 3 is just Sam, Natasha, and Bucky taking a road trip though the underworld looking for his soul or something.

Avengers 3 is the last movie on Evans' contract, and will be released after Cap 3.
