Ugh some pissy little anon on Tumblr is getting under my skin. They're going into this one shipping tag and reporting artwork from artists so it gets deleted. They've deleted this one fanartist's stuff multiple times because they instructed people on how to ask tumblr on how to get their stuff back. The tag's been spammed too. And Tumblr is no help with this shit. They don't even have a good blocking system in place.

Why do people do this shit? Like who has the time of day to be this fucking petty because they don't like a ship?

The tumblr blocking system is THE WORST! I have this who's been obsessively hate stalking my blog for almost two years now. I blocked her, but of course that doesn't prevent her from seeing my posts in the tags. I don't play into fandom drama, but oh boy, the temptation to call her out on her shitty behaviour is very strong some days.

I seriously don't get why they don't have a system that would block a person entirely. It should block the IP of the computer it's coming from too so that person can't just get a new username and continue to harass people.

I'll never understand why someone would waste that much time over a ship they hate. If I don't like a ship, I don't want to see it or read about it, much less go looking at the tag or hating on the fan-artists. (And that's not even getting into the fact that it's just plain rude, and you should leave people alone to like what they like.)

Some people are just assholes, I guess. Can't think of any other explanation. (Though, like you, I wonder where they find the time. There aren't enough hours in the day.)

OMG god this so much.

I know someone who likes to rant about the ships/fics she considers are "ruining" the fandom quite frequiently and she likes to use the general tags. Not only is terribly immature, that really puts me off of wanting to check her stuff, which is the reason she complains so often in the first place. (Yeah, bashing my ship is not going to make me suddenly see the light and start shipping yours instead!)

Ship bashing in the tags bothers me a lot, but using the general tags? Haha, I can't even imagine someone thinking that's anywhere near okay. They have to know how rude and irritating that is, and I don't feel in the least bit sorry for them if they get angry replies.

Yea, when people tell me I have bad taste and should like this other thing instead it really opens my eyes to all the possibilities. Instantly I think to myself, "Well, maybe I was remiss in overlooking this."

Better putting ship hate in the general fandom tag than just cluttering up the ship tags. Or better yet, just use anti tags.

Eh, ship hate doesn't bother that much tbh. Sometimes you just want to vent your frustrations with fandom and sometimes that includes showing your frustration with ships you dislike.

I do think there's a place for it, but I don't much like it on tumblr. I know everyone uses tumblr differently, but when I go to tumblr I search for things I like. If I hate a ship, I'm not going to go search for that ship tag or post hate in that tag. I don't like browsing a tag and seeing every forth post bash the pairing. (Not even for pairings I don't ship, which, again, I don't go searching for but sometimes I come across hate posts for them too.) That shit is annoying.

Again, people are allowed their opinion, I just think it would cut down on a lot of frustration and drama if people would keep their hate to anti tags.

Places like f!s...whatever, I get that people need a place to rant about their frustrations, and I don't mind that. However, it's how you go about it that matters. Some people are massive dicks and not only hate on the pairing but insult the pairings fans and are generally rude and hostile. That ain't cool.

That's understandable. However, I don't get the problem with using the fandom series tag to those sorts of posts. I guess I'm mostly coming at this because for organizational purposes on one's own blog. Argh, I'm finding it difficult to explain my position. I'm sorry.

Unfortunately, tumblr is where fandom had moved and there's going to be people venting. It isn't like journal sites with their communities and ability to friendslock posts to vent without sacrificing the ability to allow people to still view parts of their blog.

But yeah, bashing the shippers themselves isn't cool.

It's why I turned off the anon thing. there's this ONE anon who fucking pops EVERY TIME I decided to turn it back on and makes really shitty comments about me all the time. So I just turned it off for good. Now if they want to say that shit about me? They can say it with a named attached. And I can get their asses banned.
