I agree with all of this, it's why I would be so fucking angry if they actually did it. Both Bucky and Steve have been through enough, let them have some measure of happiness.

And tbph I'm not sure how Bucky would cope with loosing Steve in the MCU(and I'm not talking with a shipping slant here, Bucky loosing Steve in the comics wrecks him and they had more time together there to actually reconnect somewhat before Steve died). It would just be far too sudden, they get Bucky back and what two years later Steve dies? That isn't even angst to me that would just be needlessly cruel. Fucking just let them have one good thing, please

I wouldn't recover either, I've grown really attached to MCU Cap and I don't want him to go. And just thinking about how good Stan is at looking sad, I just... nope. No. I actually cannot think about it. It hurts that much.

Yea, and the thing is...how long has Steve even been 'Captain America'? Not that long, right? Then he 'comes back' and barely has a chance to even join the Avengers. If he dies in Avengers 3 he might not have over about two more years to live, if he's lucky. I just find that ridiculous and cruel in the worst possible way. Again, especially since he just found out his best friend is alive and has a renewed purpose because of him. He could be happy with Bucky, things could go right for once, just let them find each other and lean on each other and reconnect and be there for each other and survive. I just need them to do that. Urg.

It would be so damn cruel to take Steve away from Bucky right after he had found him again. (And when he has so little else.) IDK how he would handle it either. Not well, obviously... lots of death would follow. (I'd say 'lots of death would follow, and like Bucky needs more death on his conscious', but if someone killed Steve I don't think Bucky would feel in the least bit sorry for killing anyone in the way of his revenge.)

This whole 'Steve dies, Bucky becomes Cap' thing is a whole new level of DNW for me, no matter how good it would be for Sebastian's career. Sorry Stan, I have a profound love for you, but that will not overcome Evans' awesomeness as Cap. I can't imagine anyone else wearing the suit; it would look unnatural. He needs to stick around so he and Bucky can team up and kick ass and takes names and be overtly affectionate and reminisce about their shitty childhoods. Sorry, I don't make the rules.

Stan would act the shit out of that story arc, but not even that is enough to make me want Cap's death. Nothing will ever be enough. Steve is a gift and has to grow old.

Exactly! We've had him for two films at this point. Two! And to kill him off at Avengers 3 would only give him one more solo-film of his own and that just seems like an absolutely ridiculous idea. That's not enough time to have your principle character actually be around for(not to mention that Steve and Bucky would only have one film together before he died and I'm sorry but I cannot get behind that at all), I know I want Steve for more than one more Cap film, I'd feel fucking cheated otherwise.

Yeah I just cannot imagine MCU Bucky taking it well at all, and certainly not enough to don his mantle pretty much straight after coming back. It would be jarring as hell.

Gosh I agree with this, like I really adore Stan not lying but the last thing I want is for him to be Cap. For one I really like his version of Bucky and I want to see him be that, I want to see him reconnect with Steve and have them fight bad-guys together while they snark at each other and everyone(bar Nat and Sam) are surprised that Steve Rogers is a little shit with a mouth on him and they have their stupid in-jokes and make up shit from the past to fuck with people and... urgh. If I made the fucking rules Cap dying wouldn't even be a consideration. Straight up NO. Do not pass go. Do not collect £200.

He would kill me, he would actually kill me with his tears and sad face. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO UNLEASH THAT WEAPON ON US OKAY? No one would handle it. No one. Think before you act Marvel.

My levels of denial over Steve's death have reached epic proportions since I read this. I think that, even if the movies show my worst fear, I'll still see your ending. That's how deeply I'm in denial.

Yea, I think Steve is both too popular and too important to kill off that fast. Maybe Marvel will go with it anyway, who knows, but I think it's a bad decision. The guy should actually get to be Cap for a while, live his life, grow, and he shouldn't die when parts of the audience are just growing fond of him. (I've seen some folks say they weren't fond of Steve before Winter Soldier. Don't ask me why, IDGI either, but hey.)

Bucky has enough to deal with without worrying about suiting up and trying to 'live up' to Steve's image. It would go all to hell. I can't imagine him not being the biggest mess imaginable. As for the audience...I can't see it sitting well with non-comic fans. To me Evans is Cap, Stan is Bucky. I know what happens in the comics but that doesn't change things for me. Comics are an entirely different medium, there's waaaaaaaay more time to set-up these kinds of things. By the time comic!Bucky became Cap he had a fuckload of history and character development, and MCU Bucky has much less. I'm not saying Stan isn't good, but I don't think it would translate over well.

Ugh, it would be "I know him" times 10. I'm not sure how any of us would survive. People would start fainting in the theater, they would curl up in their chairs and cry as the end credits aired and refuse to leave. It would be chaos. Sebastian Stan would ruin us all.

It would be far too fast, he's only just begun his journey so killing him off after 3 solo movies would be ending things far too soon. It would make no sense. I mean they could do it and I wouldn't be able to stop them but I would hate it and I honestly think it would be a huge mistake.(Whaaaaaat? Like Cap was never my favourite hero in the comics but the first moment I saw him in Cap 1 I fell in love with him. See! That's even more of a reason to not kill him! If some people have only now started liking him killing him off in three movies would be dumb! The most dumbass decision of all dumbass decisions!)

Yeah I completely agree, the guy has got to find himself first before he can even think about joining the Avengers(which I do want) or helping Steve on his missions. He's going to be in such a bad place when they do catch up with him again and having Steve die on top of that would only send him spiraling down imo. Yeah the comics has far more history to play with, killing off iconic characters that have been around for 60 years can be done because they already have the canon to back up the heartbreak, but in the movies? We're just getting to know them, we're just getting to see who they are. Don't take that away in the blink of an eye Marvel, just don't.

We deserve that much, we deserve all the banter and silly shenanigans and I just want everyone in this fucking universe to be happy. You think I would have learnt my lesson with Thor and Loki but noooooooooooooo.

Oh god. OH GOD. This is how the world ends. Not with a bang but with people crying over Sebastian Stan's sad face and tears. Marvel do not understand the power they wield. Someone take it away from them.
