At the last barn I boarded Sharif at, his pasture-mate was this adorable, friendly, fat mini-donkey named Homey. He was the sweetest little thing and I wanted to take him with me so badly when I moved Sharif to my best friend's place. I met his owner, Mr. Don, at the pharmacy yesterday, and he told me that shortly after I left, some new boarders came in, and they had two young daughters (one of them physically disabled) who almost instantly bonded with the little guy. When they bought some land and moved their horse there, Mr. Don talked to the parents about giving them Homey, and one day he hooked up the trailer and drove him out there. It turns out that the kids were saving up their money to buy a donkey just like Homey and their parents kept his imminent arrival a secret from them right up until Mr. Don pulled up in the driveway. So now Homey's in a home where he'll be loved and spoiled for the rest of his life and two young girls get to live with the sweetest little donkey ever. He also gave them his coon-hound, Catfish, because he was no longer able to give her as much attention as she needs. So, yeah. I'm so happy that those two are in a good place and bringing happiness to people who need it.
