There was another anime you mentioned a bit. It was family something. Mind naming it? Ucho or Uchi something. I've been meaning to watch that as well, but I forgot the name of it. :(

Oh! That's The Eccentric Family/Uchouten Kazoku and it's also on Crunchyroll.

I'm not too sure on your tastes either, so I labeled the genre too. I linked stuff with legitimate streams since you mentioned crunchyroll (and idk what case's rule is on non-legit stuff), but I trust that you know how to find stuff that isn't licensed. But anyway here's some anime I think is cool!

Humanity Has Declined (absurdist comedy)
From the New World (fantasy dystopian)
Mononoke (occult detective)
Mawaru Penguindrum (mystery/drama)
Princess Jellyfish (romcom)
Tatami Galaxy (comedy/drama)
Birdy the Mighty: Decode* (action)
The Devil is a Part-Timer* (comedy w/ some action)
Cat Soup** (surreal/mindscrew)
Tekkon Kinkreet** (action/drama)
Wolf Children Ame and Yuki** (slice of life)

*These two are more heavy on the anime-isms and fanservice than everything else I've mentioned, so I totally get skipping if that's in your pile of do not want.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what my tastes are either anymore. I've been out of loop when it comes to anime for the past few years. Most of the new stuff coming out didn't interest me and I couldn't be bothered with checking out what few shows did interest me. So basically, any recs are appreciated.

I've seen a bit of Mawaru Penguindrum but it wasn't for me. Had fabulous music though! Kuragehime was fantastic and now I've got the sudden urge to rewatch it.

I think making a thread would be a bit odd, so I will probably make an accoun and pm you. I've been meaning to anyway. Just need to come up with a damn username.
