I still read comics, including manga, in my 30's. Like any other medium, there are works geared towards an older audience. You can, of course, lose interest or just not have the time or inclination to sift through stuff (especially if you want English translations, most of which I've seen in mainstream bookstores being aimed at teens and younger). But I think there's often a conflation of medium and genre when talking about comics, and especially about manga (in the US, at least), that sells short a really diverse field.

I agree. I get so tired of the people who go "Manga is the kiddie stuff, western graphic novels are for the adults" when both have gems among loads of crap and it always, always is a matter of genre.
