Ember was a parody of Evanescence meets Avril Lavigne y/n???

Speaking of Ember, I really loved DP after the first episode because it was such a great PARODY. Watching the first episode and then the later ones is such a stark contrast, it turns into what it was at first making fun of! It drove me nuts and the series lost interest for me.

I never got that it was a parody. I just thought Hartman was going with another idea, and once I got past the ghost made of meat, I liked it. Besides, what other Nickelodeon cartoon can get away with an entire episode centered around blatantly lesbianic overtones?

I'm sorry, but DP's only value to me was as a parody of teenage superhero misadventures. More power to people who could keep enjoying it but I wasn't one of them.
