7. I actually think the anime considered by itself is pretty good, but the manga completely pwns it. And what I've read of the novels is even better.

33. Hughes/Roy is the only pairing I like in that whole fandom, probably because Hughes was my favorite character of them all.

38. Those two make me almost want to keep watching that show. Almost.

40. I thought seasons 2 & 3 were good, and the rest was downhill from there, especially the last couple of seasons. I've probably painted a target on my chest with this judging from some of the comments to this post, but oh well.

I'm not dissing the anime; the animation is gorgeous (basically the only positive thing I can find, really.) I need to find those novels, apparently. XD

I didn't think you were really dissing it. I usually like the manga of a series better than the anime on the whole, since a lot of anime seem to tone down the action and alter the characters a bit from the manga.

Tokyo Pop has actually put out the first 3 novels. (I keep trying to find online translations of them, and keep failing.)
