I can't stand Cameron. And I will willingly admit that I much prefer the House/Cuddy or House/Wilson dynamic over House/Cameron, but that's a result, rather than a cause. I hate the House/Cameron dynamic because I hate Cameron, not the other way around. I mix fandoms when I talk about her, but I still can't help but see her as everything-that-could-be-wrong-with-a-Gryffindor. She's passionate and noble, also referred to as "self-righteous," and she tries to force her nobility onto others and make them conform to her views of right and wrong. And while she's outwardly a bleeding-heart, sensitive girl who just wants the puppies and the kittens to get along, inside, she's this shallow, whiny child. I guess I appreciate that, just because it adds some complexity to her character (a character being the exact opposite of what they really seem is a good move. Adds dimension). But when she doesn't get her way (ie: House), she goes on some teenage self-destructive kick and drags poor Chase along with her.
Here's my not so secret: Hate Cameron. Love Chase. Another example of a character not being what they seem. I hated Chase at the outset. But now I realize he's got the classic Catholic complex: "I know I should be a good person, and technically, I want to be a good person, but dangit, I hate the fact that I've basically been bullied into feeling like I should be a good person, and I'm kind of envious of guys like House who can be complete jerks and never worry about the consequences."
Also, Chase is the only one who laughs at House's jokes. C'mon, people; they're funny.
