This isn't necessarily true. FFnet has no kudos system, so you know what a lot of people do instead? That's right, they leave comments. Maybe OP's fic wouldn't have the same number of comments as they have kudos (because some readers cannot be bothered) but it's reasonable to expect they'd have more than 12 because some readers would want to register the fact that they liked the fic and comments are the main option.

I'm sorry but "I liked it" is not a real fic comment. Give me kudos any day over thinking I have a real comment that turns out to be just a "I liked it".
