I treasure any kind of feedback because I write non-OTP fic in a tiny closed-canon fandom, so any kind of evidence that people like my fic is very deeply appreciated, including kudos.

But... a comment is sooo much better. I don't care if it's super-short ("Wow, that was great!" or whatever). It's PERSONAL. It means someone cared enough to communicate something directly to the author. And if they were logged in (as most commenters are), I can even see who liked it. (Most of the kudos on my fics are anonymous and I honestly don't have a clue most of the time who my readership is.)

So yes, I totally get your point, SD :-)
