Pretty much, yeah. A lot of people get mad that the women are fodder for manpain/Will's character development, particularly in the Takiawase-Mukozuke storyline (staying nondescript for spoilers), which would be a completely valid complaint if the show wasn't centered entirely around him. Will is the main character. Everything that happens on the show is supposed to fuel his development, including the death/injury/trauma of men. (Like, you know, almost all of the murderers and murder victims that get into his head.)

If Alana Bloom had stayed Alan Bloom, if Zeller or Price had taken Beverly's role, they would have been used to further Will's development just like they were in the real show. But this way we get awesome, complex ladies. :D

Oh godddddd. Alana has taken so much shit this season from fans on both sides. You've got people saying "omgggg that bitch is ruining muh murder husbands!1!11!!! :'(" and, on the other side, "WOMEN CAN NEVER BE MANIPULATED EVER NOT EVEN BY THE MAN WHO IS MANIPULATING LITERALLY EVERYBODY ELSE ON THE SHOW". Shut up, you're both wrong. I was just happy that she retained her agency and got some fine cannibal dick in the process awwwwwyeah baby.
