I don't ~hate~ her, but lmao. When I'm Clem, I'm an 11 year old trying to survive a zombie apocalypse! I don't have time for dead weight! I mean you can play Clem different ways, but I tend to play her as a "me first" survivalist. Taking care of Sarah doesn't fit into that.

There are people worth expending reasources on and people who are not. The former has your back, or will return the favor whent hey can and BE CAPABLE OF RETURNING THAT FAVOR. The other kind is dead weight. Emphasis on dead.

Is this the kind of game where you can actually get killed for perpetually choosing the nice option, or is this the kind of game where your character just suffers for it? (I'm not my character, so in the latter kind of game, I just make my character suffer every time. In the former kind, I make my character suffer every time until one kills her, then reload my save and choose the selfish option that one time. I suspect I would not last long in an actual life-or-death situation.)

The choices you make change the story, so sometimes always choosing the nice options does cause suffering sometimes.
