(Anonymous) 2014-05-26 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)In the same vein, there's Jojo's Bizarre Adventure 2012 adaptation which also has the advantage of adapting a manga cut into "parts", each one telling a new story in the same universe. So even if you get burnt out with it, you'll still be able to get a decent ending by watching the last episode of a part.
Right now there's a first season of 26 episodes that you can watch on Crunchyroll and another which is ongoing and will probably have something like 48 episodes.
Other than that I can think of Monster, Soul Eater, both of Fullmetal Alchemist adaptations and Revolutionary Girl Utena as relatively long anime series that don't drag forever.
I've never watched Fairy Tail so I don't know if it drags or not, sorry.
