"Cheerleading" manga?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-26 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yo, what's that manga about the grumpy looking dude who has an accident in which he and some girl die at their high school graduation, they both wake up to find themselves as freshmen, and they decide to join the cheering squad for their school. Only it's not like American cheerleaders, they have like drums and wear gakuran and beat drums and shit. Also, the cheer team (which has, like, no members) has this big rivalry with the western style cheerleading squad. And the grumpy looking guy was really unpopular in school while the girl who died with him was popular and had a great time, and when they go back, he gets popular while everyone thinks she's weird and they avoid her. WHAAAAAT ISSSS THISSSS MANNNNNNGA???

Swamp Thing?

Is it alright if we turn this into a "searching for" thread? Because I'm trying to find a series of comics that I read once, I think trade bound? That were about the Swamp Thing, but there was also Poison Ivy in a park, and the main bit I remember was Swamp Thing's gf getting accused of immorality because apparently plant-humanoid/human relations are frowned upon, and eventually one of the main villains accidentally gets a tomato seed, and it sprouts, eating him.

According to the synopsis I found re: the hortisexuality, you're likely thinking of Swamp Thing vol. 5, but that doesn't seem to have Poison Ivy in it as far as I can tell (it is set in Gotham though so who knows.) The only two issues with both Swamp Thing and Poison Ivy listed on Comicbook Database are Swamp Thing Annual 04 (1985) and Swamp Thing #132.

Huh. I wonder what I read then, because I definitely remember that there was a scene where New York/Gotham was covered in plants, but the plant's fruits made people hallucinate. Maybe Poison Ivy wasn't actually involved?

I'll look at those, thanks!

That was actually one of Swamp Thing's powers for a while, because Alan Moore is a crazy, awesome, LSD-loving son-of-a-gun. If you can't remember Ivy physically being there, I would bet it's the trade, since that definitely sounds like a Moore plotline.
